The five beauty essentials I can't be without

One of my absolute weaknesses when out shopping, apart from shoes of course, is cosmetics; I love the rush of butterflies and anticipation I get when I know I’m about to purchase a new cream or mascara that may very well have me looking as radiant and flawless as Jennifer Aniston (of course this is never a dream come true!)
There are so many cosmetics products out there for us girls that it’s often hard to keep track of the latest must-haves and technologies in the world of beauty…have we made our way through the alphabet to EE creams yet?
After years of trial and error I have just about mastered a skincare and beauty regime that caters to my challenges and needs and I’m excited to share with you the top five gems that have made the grade.

Skincare
Your skin and complexion is the telltale of all manners of ghastly secrets, from your true age to what time you were up until the night before. Armed with the right skincare products, those secrets will remain firmly safe. I have normal to dry skin so moisturizing products are my kypronite.
This product delivers some serious skincare R&R and I am a huge fan. This mask leaves my skin feeling rehydrated, fresh and firm.
I tend to indulge my skin in this silky number once, or even twice a week. I only need a penny sized amount and simply apply a thin layer of the mask to my face and neck and leave it to soak in for about 5 minutes. After 5 minutes I gently remove all of the excess with a cotton wool pad with a drop of toner. I love how silky smooth this product leaves my skin feeling. I always wake up the next day feeling fresh-faced and glowing.
At £33.00 RRP for a 75ml bottle, this product is worth every copper penny. This cream mask makes a regular appearance on both my Christmas and birthday wish lists and that is more than enough to last me for the year.

This product was a complete long shot; I needed to spend a House of Fraser voucher I was given for Christmas and I wanted to try something new. I never feel as bad taking this gamble when it isn’t my own money! As always, I was immediately drawn to the fun and quirky packaging at the Benefit counter, feeling like a kid in a candy shop. Clarins, The Body Shop and Simple are usually my go-to skincare brands, however I do have a couple of Benefit favourites I turn to.
This facial polish is a particular staple piece in my bathroom cupboards. It contains natural clay and seaweed, full of rich minerals that contribute to its purifying nature, which leave my skin feeling immediately revitalized and refreshed. I never use to enjoy exfoliating my face, as all the products I used felt harsh against my skin; but thankfully this exfoliator is a little gentler.
I tend to use this polish once a week, having cleansed with my ever-favourite Simple cleanser. I simply massage a small amount into my face, and after a couple of minutes rinse off with warm water and voilà, hello radiant skin! If I’m feeling really indulgent and fancy a treat, I leave the mask on for up to five minutes while I brush my teeth (rock ‘n’ roll I know), and it leaves me with that ‘I can’t stop stroking my own face’ feeling.

Make Up
I have never had the patience to spend too much time on make up, which is why, after many years of careful deliberation, I have shortlisted a handful of saviours that help me achieve my favourite look; natural with a dewy, glowing finish. Thanks to a couple of key products, which I can't wait to share with you, I can achieve this look in hardly any time at all!
I tend to avoid wearing a foundation in the day and opt for a tinted moisturizer instead, however, I do reach for this particular one, either when I have an important day at work ahead of me, or for going out in the evenings.
This mineral rich (contains shea butter and vitamin E) foundation is light to medium coverage and feeds my skin with the moisture and hydration it craves, leaving me with that dewy, satin finish I rave so much about. Also featuring SPF 15, this foundation is the armour that protects your skin from those rare days of sunshine.

I always love to add a last touch of shimmer to my cheeks which perfectly sets off that dewy, glowing look. Having discovered this perfect product, the i – glow in Sirocco has soon become a firm favourite of mine. I also love to dab a touch on my collar bones and the crowns of my shoulders, especially in the summer time, which makes me feel like a Golden Goddess!
These marbalised glow powders from New CID Cosmetics boast the brand’s famous ‘baked formulation’
which allows for easy, silky smooth application.
Founded in 2005 and with the aim to ‘create a range that simplified make-up application’, this innovative brand boasts an array of award winning products that have been specifically produced based on daily feedback from the make-up studios owned by the founder of New CID. In short, this brand understands the beauty enhancing potential of make-up.

This product is the crème de la crème of mascaras; false lash effect it promises and false lash effect it delivers. It’s amazing how much my lashes grow and thicken with just one application of this miracle worker! The varying diameters of nylon fibres on the brush applicator allow for some serious volume enhancement while the oils in the formula effortlessly lengthen each lash.
At £25 RRP, as amazing as this mascara is, I must remember to stay humbke and sensible and so I do tend to save it only for when I’m glamming up for special occasions.

Even though these are my five favourites, I'm always on the look out for new additions to my beauty and skincare collection of must-haves. If you have any suggestions, please let me know!
