Review of The Breakfast Club London Bridge.

Recently, my boyfriend and I spent the day in London for his birthday – I knew I had to plan ahead as there is always so much to do and so little time. He, like me, loves a good breakfast. Every so often we like to go to Little Italy in Haddenham, which is a quant little café, serving up breakfast classics, from porridge and pancakes to eggs Florentine and a full English. It is a local gem and we love going!
So whilst we were in London, I knew we had to visit the much-appraised Breakfast Club, I decided it would make be most convenient to visit the one in London bridge as we were also going to The Shard in the afternoon. London Bridge is the sixth location playing host to the Breakfast Club, opening in the summer of 2014. The first location being Soho which opened in 2005 by two children of the 80s, striving to create an atmosphere reminiscent of their childhood.

Prior to going to the Breakfast Club I wasn’t too sure what to expect, I’d obviously thoroughly scouted the menu so knew how much it had to offer in terms of food, and it has a proud reputation for sporting long queues of people eagerly awaiting a table – that’s got to be a good sign right! The only factor to be mindful of is that they don't take table bookings, which for me, gave it an exclusive edge and made me even more keen to visit. As we walked in (having queued for approx. half an hour), the friendly, chilled out vibe soon became apparent. The Breakfast Club isn’t filled with lavish furniture and expensive lighting, but you can tell that the ethos is very much about having a good time whilst eating good food.
As mentioned, the menu is vast and so by eagerly sneaking a peek at the menu prior to the visit; I saved myself a lot of decision-making time. You name what you like for breakfast, and they have it; even if it's a veggie burrito, which I didn’t realize doubled up as a breakfast time meal. My boyfriend decided on the All American which is essentially pancakes, sausages, eggs, bacon & potatoes all on one plate, whilst I opted for scrambled egg and smoked salmon on rye bread.
The All American

When our breakfast was served I was pleasantly surprised by the volume of food that greeted us; my rye bread was piled high with scrambled eggs alongside a liberal serving of delicious smoked salmon. The food itself was delicious, not too greasy and full of flavour and was well worth the fair sizes food baby I was left nursing. Next time I will definitely be having the pancakes!
