Before now, I had never dipped my toe into the Beauty Box pond; always a little apprehensive that I may receive products that weren’t quite suited to me. However I decided to take the plunge when one of Look Fantastic’s Black Friday offerings was ‘buy three Beauty Boxes for £30’ – what a perfect time to give them a whirl.

First up was the October Beauty Box and below are my reviews of the products that best suited my skintype.

The first of the trio was definitely filled with some delicious goodies. Featuring some brands I knew, and some I had never heard of; but I like to keep my finger on the pulse with skincare products so I loved making these new discoveries.

I hate to be caught out with dry hands and so I always carry hand cream with me wherever I go; I even have one on my desk at work. This little Nuxe beauty has definitely climbed its way in to my list of top favourite hand creams, sitting alongside the Molton Brown Pink Pepperpod beauty replenishing hand cream and The Body Shop almond hand and nail cream.

Not only is this hand savior beautifully smooth and nourishing, but it also smells delicious. I’m really happy I got this in my Beauty Box and it will be a firm staple in my handbag!

£16.50/75ml duo

I’m always on the look out for skincare products that leave my skin feeling fresh, moisturised and rejuvenated and this exfoliating cleanser certainly ticks all the boxes. I’ve used this twice now as part of my nightly skincare regime and absolutely love how smooth my face feels and looks the morning after the night before.

This is another highly acclaimed brand that I had never tried before; you know you’re on to a good skincare brand when the founder is know as ‘The Father of Internal Skincare’. Howard Murad is a trained pharmacist, associate clinical professor of medicine and physician who specializes in both inclusive health and dermatology. Inclusive health is a concept driven by Dr. Murad which achieved through feeling, looking and living better.

Containing jojoba beads to polish and re-texturise the skin, jojoba seed oil to help reduce dryness and lactic, salicylic and glycolic acids to brighten the skin, this cleanser targets dry, tired skin at all angles.

I would love to indulge in every single Murad product but unfortunately I don’t think my budget could stretch that far; on to my Christmas and birthday wish lists it goes!

£34/200ml

I am completely, head over heels, undoubtedly in love with this face mask; containing gently polishing walnut shells and fruit acids that brighten the skin it is the perfect combination of exfoliation and smoothing. I have also used this product twice and just love how it leaves my skin feeling; so smooth and hydrated. Pure skin indulgence.

This is my definite favourite of all the October Beauty Box treats.

£18/75ml

The treats didn’t end there and the Look Fantastic box was the gift that kept on giving! The rest of the products unfortunately aren’t suitable for me, but will make lovely stocking fillers for those they’d perfectly suit.

This is a daily moisturizer that promises to leave skin feeling soft, toned and tightened, with the help of its key ingredient, marine collagen. Monu is a skincare brand that is advocated by professional therapists and it’s not surprising given that their beauty treatments use on the purest ingredients.

Not only is this rich, firming moisturizer deeply nourishing but it also replenishes and rehydrates skin.

£22.50/50ml

Never have I been so upset to not have combination skin! I have heard amazing things about Elemis but have yet to try the products out.

This day cream is packed full of meadowsweet extract which regulates oil production and hyaluronic acid which locks in moisture, perfectly balancing the skin and leaving it feeling soft and supple. This cream strikes the perfect balance between nourishing, while minimizing that greasy feeling.

£42/50ml

Since working for Paul Mitchell, I have become a devout advocate of the products and very rarely stray to other hair care brands; hence why this product didn’t hugely excite me, however it does sound rather amazing.

This volumising no oil, oil delivers bouncy body to fine hair whilst also smoothing to give a ‘gorgeous texture’. This product also boasts heat protection which means you aren’t needing to add too many products to your hair – bonus! Moisture and nourishment is promised with its violet extracts and pro vitamin B5.

£14/60ml

So far, I’m impressed with Look Fantastic's Beauty Boxes and can’t wait to fill you in on what’s inside November's!
