Winter claws, nailed.

I find painting so therapeutic; and painting my nails is no exeption. I would repaint my nails every day if a) I could afford all the nail varnish and b) had time at my disposal! I love discovering new colours to take home and play around with and as the seasons change, so does the shade. This of course isn’t to say I don’t like mixing it up throughout the year; sometimes a deep red deliciously complements a summer tan and a pastel pink can work really nicely in the frosty winter months.
I’ve discovered four yummy shades I’ll be turning to throughout the winter season – these contrasting colours offer a different look and I love them all! All four shades are OPI, which I’m not sure is indicative of my love for the brand or just a happy coincidence; either way I always find that OPI delivers on wealth of shade choice, applies nicely and lasts the longest of all the brands I have tried. I’m always committed to applying a base coat, to ensure the colour is applied smoothly and evenly, and a top coat which gives a lovely shine and also prevents the colour chipping away; both can be found here.
This shade is just so dreamy with its not so subtle nod towards the galaxy (the clue is in the name). Not only is this colour the perfect hue for the festive season but the little flecks of sparkle running through make it a fun choice for other celebratory occasions. I always get asked what shade this is when I'm wearing it.

Doesn’t this sophisticated shade make you think of all things Nordic? Thecamel shade is a real classic and a colour that can be worn pretty much any time, anywhere; it adds a touch of style to any look. I've only just discovered this shade and I'm so pleased I have. I think it's a perfect colour for work - subtle and smart, with a touch of sass.

I love a red hue when it comes to nail varnish; it makes a statement and adds a little glam. This particular shade is half way between a cherry red and a vibrant pink, which works really nicely. This colour is perfect for a night out, or even better, a Christmas party. I also wear this shade to work as I believe red nails are super sophisticated and show a bit of effort has been made to the overall look.

How yummy is this shade? I love rich, dark colours and this is one of my all time favourites. and has been for years. I just adore the depth of colour and the slight shimmer it brings.. If I could choose any shade to wear 24/7; it would have to be the Oktoberfest! Having said that, I do tend to save it for special occasions as this colour does scream statement.
